Private G.4916 2nd Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regiment. 1st Division. Killed in action at Loos 25th September 1915. Aged 20. Son of James & Annie Cooke of 'The Vine' Udimore. Born and enlisted in Hastings. Also on Hastings War Memorial. Commemorated on The Loos Memorial MR.19.

Charles [Ernest]

Private L.10205 2nd Battalion, The Royal Sussex Regiment. 1st Division. Killed in action at Richbourg L'Avoue 9th May 1915. Aged 23. Stepson of Mrs H. M. Goldsmith of 'Stredwicks', Udimore. Born in Icklesham and enlisted in Rye. Commemorated on The Le Touret Memorial MR.22.

Second Lieutenant, 2nd Battalion, The Kings Royal Rifle Corps. 1st Division. Died of wounds 1st July 1916. Buried in Nouex Les Mines Communal Cemetery F.176.

Private 29009, 8th Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers. 12th Division. Killed in action near Arras 20th June 1917. Born in Beckley and enlisted in Chichester. Commemorated on The Arras Memorial MR.20.
