The memorial is situated at the road junction within the site of the chruch, centre of the village of Aldbrough. It takes the form of a red granite plain obelisk on a square plinth with a four-stepped square base which is surrounded by railings. There are 21 names listed for World War 1 and 8 for World War 2. The memorial was first unveiled 1 May 1920. There are also memorials within St Martholomew's Church, Aldbrough and Rolls of Honour.
