The
memorial can be located in the churchyard of St Mary Magdelene, High
Road, Guyhirn.
Itb takes the form of a stepped, rectangular, column of grey polished
granite surmounted by a wheel cross set in a cement base. The memorial
was constructed by Messrs. W & A.V. Davis of Wisbech. The memorial
was unveiled by Captain Coiln Reith Coot, D.S.O., M.P., and dedicated
by the Rev. M. B. George on 25 July 1920. There are 31 names listed
for World War 1 and 8 for World War 2.

Loyal National Lodge, Manchester Oddfellows. To Australia c1913.
Enlisted Perth, Western Australia. Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli.
Born in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England, the son of William Butt
of Turyhirm, Wisbech. He was unmarried. Before emigrating to Australia,
he was employed as an auxiliary postman in Guyhirn and Rings
End, Cambridgeshire, and was a Primitive Methodist minister, but
in Australia he was employed as a labourer. On March 6, 1915, he
enlisted in the A.I.F. in Perth, Western Australia, but his service
did not actually commence until April 16. Killed in action on October
7, 1915, aged 28 years. Name commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial
