To
get the most out of Normandy their tours are designed to last between
three and five days, although one day tours are also available.
They
also meet cruise ships visiting Normandy for a day.
Hand Maid Tours are operated and organised by John and Elaine Flaherty
who are English, but who have known France for many years and now

If
you have a passion for history, particularly the era of 'The Great
War' and wish to get a real insight into that monumental conflict,
look no further than 'The
Battlefields Experience'. They offer a unique personal experience
of the Great War by arranging guided tours to the areas of conflict
based around your particular interests. The Battlefield Experience
is a family business with considerable experience of organising
fully guided tours throughout the Battlefields of France and Belgium.
They aim to make each trip a personal experience for each traveller
and each itinerary is individually tailored to suit the requirements
of individuals and groups. |
Founded
several years ago by serving and retired police officers, ex service
personnel and friends, The
War Research Society / Battlefield Tours has taken thousands
of pilgrims, veterans, widows and children to visit the battlefields,
memorials and last resting places of the fallen. They have incorporated
this with interesting guided historical tours of the areas of the
First World War and Second World War in Northern France, Belgium,
and Italy. Their Second World War tours visit, France, Belgium,
Holland, Germany, Poland, and Italy. They cover the earlier campaigns
in Europe with Agincourt/Crecy and the Battle of Waterloo and, now
they are organising tours to South Africa and The Boer and Zulu
War battle sites. |
Visiting
the Battlefields where our ancestors bravely fought and won the
Battle Honours that are now inscribed on our psyche has been Julian
Whippy's passion since childhood. He now offers you the chance to
visit them too in a uniquely comfortable and memorable fashion using
small, private, bespoke tours to the Battlefields of Normandy, Arnhem,
The Somme, Ypres, and other less known locations through his company,
Battle
Honours Ltd. |
A
husband and wife team form a small,
specialist company who have been organising tours to the battlefields
of the Great War 1914-1918 since 1996. They are particularly
proud of their reputation and have many unsolicited testimonials
written by those who have travelled with them over the past nine
years Most importantly of all, they do not employ tour guides
as is often the case with most other tour organisers. They
personally organise and accompany every one of their
conducted tours.
Their
tours are quite distinct from the more commercially driven alternatives
offered by larger companies. They are particularly suited
to the more discerning battlefield visitor, who may prefer to visit
the battlefields as part of a very small group dedicated to exploring
the battlefields, rather than just one of a large coach party. For
this reason their tour groups are made up of no more than six persons,
and they travel in our own luxury air-conditioned minibus - which
has plenty of leg room!
They
are also able to 'get off the beaten track' as much as possible
to visit some of the most interesting places which cannot be accessed
by larger coaches. |
